What Communication Really Is
I came across a beautiful quote I’d like to share with you today.
Let’s take a closer look at what Mardi is saying about communication.
“Communication is more than a sharing of words. It is the wise sharing of emotions, feelings, and concerns. It is the sharing of oneself totally.”
~ The Lord Will Give Grace and Glory by Mardi Townsend
First, communication is not just talking. We can talk for an hour with someone and not connect with them. Communication involves two people engaged deeply with interest, concern, and curiosity about each other.

Second, communication is sharing wisely. We need to be wise about how we share what we share. The best sharing is when we can communicate, without blaming, our emotions, feelings, and worries. And that doesn’t always involve words.

Finally, communication involves sharing your whole self. This means moving from talking about general topics like the weather and sports or talking about others and their problems to talking about yourself. It involves being vulnerable and truthful.

Isn’t it time you took time to share yourself with someone you love and trust?
